Lakeway Tilapia Pro Packs with free shipping
A Blue tilapia breeding colony

Lakeway Tilapia Pro Packs are perfect for home tilapia farming. Why? Because tilapia food is only made in 50 pound bags, is very expensive and has a short shelf life. If you wanted to buy the food for 100 tilapia for the first 3 months of life directly from the manufacturers, it would cost you over $375 dollars plus shipping because of their bag sizes and it would expire and rot long before you used it.

In contrast,  Lakeway Tilapia Pro Pack 100 for 100 tilapia only costs $49.39 with free shipping and comes with full feeding instructions.

The number for each Pro Pack corresponds to the number of tilapia you need to feed. So a Pro Pack 50 feeds 50 tilapia and a Pro Pack 85 feeds 85 tilapia and so on.

Few choices are more important for home tilapia farmers than filtration methods.  After having used them all, the best by far is the new Home Tilapia Pro, by Aquaculture Filter. We urge you to Google them and visit their website. We've replaced all of our similarly priced Fluval FX6 filters with the Home Tilapia Pro and have never regretted the decision. The filter uses commonly available polyfil as a media and you can get more than 100 disposable filter changes for less than $15.

Through a special arrangement, we are offering the Home Tilapia Pro by Aquaculture Filter with a 5% discount.

tilapia FOOD for sale

This is a proper tilapia breeding colony consisting of a single male and five females. Other combinations will not work on a reliable basis. The picture above shows one of Greg's early experiments with seven females and one male. It did not produce any tilapia fingerlings. He also tried one male with three females and two males with four females with the same poor results.

The breeding colony that you will receive will not be slapped together from some random tilapia snatched out of a juvenile tank on any given day. Instead, we will observe your colony for a few days and make sure that it has what it takes to breed Please allow about ten business days for the colony to be shipped so that we can perform our observations.

A Note To Our Customers

The fingerlings offered on Mineral Springs Tilapia are pure strain Blue. There are nearly 100 species of tilapia and untold numbers of unpredictable cross bred tilapia mixes in the world, but only three of them grow to a size suitable for aquaculture. Those species are Blue, Nile and Mozambique. Of those three, Blue and Nile are tied as the second-fastest growing freshwater fish on earth. Nile is an African river fish with a gamey flavor. Blue tilapia is a middle eastern lake fish with a lighter flavor. All species of tilapia, except Blue, stop metabolizing food at 70 degrees and begin to emaciate. All species of tilapia, except Blue die at 60 degrees. Blue on the other hand can metabolize food all the way down to 59 degrees and can handle temperature dips all the way down to 47 degrees. This is why pure strain Blue is so popular for aquaculture in North America.

Not only are our prices cheaper than anyone else's, we compare our shipping prices to everyone else every month and deliberately make our shipping prices lower, even if it means taking a loss. We absolutely will not be undersold.
